Mountain Vineyards and Winery, producing wine in North Georgia, provides an atmosphere that is warm, relaxing, and friendly. Our winemaking philosophy is focused on blending varietals to create new and unique wines. MVW ensures that each wine is given the individual attention it requires. Our goal is to achieve the highest quality in locally produced wines for your enjoyment.
About our Wine-Maker
The Managing owners of MVW are George & Mary Mason. George is a wine professional with a
viticulture and enology degree from Fresno State University and 16 years experience in the
eastern wine industry. He received his practical training at Trefethen Vineyards in Napa Valley
over five harvests, three of which he was Trefethen's enologist, before returning to the South.
George has been a Winemaker at Mountain Vineyards & Winery since 1995 and is greatly
responsible for the accolades given to MVW wines in recent years.
Combining traditional and modern wine-making techniques, MVW has perfected its process in
producing wines that taste “just like eating the fruit right off the vine!” To capture the
essence of the fruit, we employ our own special “freeze-fermentation” method, which slows down the
fermentation process and preserves the fruit flavor. This unique process serves as our mark of
distinction and contributes to the remarkable popularity of our wines.
